Signup to Bring SUPPER for the Shelter (18 meals)
With winter approaching, our numbers are increasing. We still have 16 beds and we never know how many new men will arrive on a given night. We also need enough food for the two supervisors on duty. You can check with the shelter manager (252) 820-0701 to see how many have been in the shelter in the past days. We are now located at City Road Center for Hope (903 N. Garnett Street) and since we have a kitchen, you may deliver in "casserole style" dishes and we will serve the plates in the kitchen - you will be welcome to stay and help serve and even to share in the meal (if you bring enough food). Please bring food in disposable dishes or stay and take your dishes home with you! We have plates, utensils, cups, napkins, etc. If you don't want to cook, we are happy to get restaurant meals as well. AND NOW YOU MAY PREPARE YOUR MEAL IN OUR KITCHEN - just call ahead to make arrangements!

Signup to Be a Shelter Helper - (not to bring supper)
**********NOTE SHORTER HOURS**********
SHELTER HELPERS assist the shelter manager during the welcome shift. Easy tasks - men or women are welcome and it's fine to sign up as a pair. Duties might include: serving plates, handing out supplies, eating supper with and chatting with the men, accepting donations, playing games, watching TV, etc.
5:30pm - 7:30pm Need one or two volunteers for every night if possible.
Signup to PREPARE BREAKFAST on a Saturday morning
*** PLEASE NOTE - We need to arrange for staff to stay later on mornings when there is Saturday morning breakfast, so we are asking for advance notice of at least a week. Please touch base with the Shelter Manager (252) 820-0701 to make sure staff is scheduled.
This is an excellent opportunity for a church men’s group, a club, a family, or any other group to bring breakfast and share with the men before they leave on Saturday morning!
