Program Director – Freedom Bridge (B.R.I.D.G.E.)     Henderson, NC                    

Position Summary

The Program Director will provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on management to advance Freedom Bridge’s mission. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff, programs, and finances while cultivating community partnerships and advocating for those impacted by opioid use disorder. The Program Director will serve as the public face of Freedom Bridge and ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability and impact.   This will be a part time position coordinating a facility that is expected to operate between noon and 5:00pm weekdays.   Freedom Bridge is a start-up organization and the Program Director will help define our programs and procedures.   Reports to: Board of Directors, Community Partners of Hope

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy

    • Guide the organization in alignment with its mission and values.

    • Develop and implement strategic goals and measurable outcomes.

    • Foster an inclusive, compassionate, and recovery-centered organizational culture.

  • Program Oversight

    • Ensure effective delivery of prevention, counseling, education, and recovery services.

    • Monitor program outcomes and adapt services to meet evolving community needs.

    • Support staff with training, supervision, and professional development.

  • Community & Advocacy

    • Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, schools, faith based organizations, local agencies, and recovery networks.

    • Advocate for policies and resources that support recovery and prevention efforts.

    • Serve as a visible, credible spokesperson for Freedom Bridge in the community and media.

  • Fundraising & Resource Development

    • Assist with fundraising activities.

    • Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and community stakeholders.

    • Ensure financial sustainability through sound budgeting and resource management.

  • Operations & Governance

    • Oversee organizational operations, compliance, and reporting to the Board of Directors.

    • Manage staff, volunteers, and service contractors with transparency and accountability.

    • Partner with the Board of Directors to strengthen governance and organizational capacity.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or related field.

  • Deep understanding of substance use disorder, recovery models, and community-based support.

  • Strong skills in staff management, program development, and community outreach.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.

  • Lived experience with recovery, or direct connection to affected communities, is highly valued.
